Mercia is falling.

A curse from unknown dark forces has plagued the entire land of the once prosperous Kingdom of Mercia. It's citizens, infected by the terrible disease, began to hear voices and to become dreadful creatures. The curse was called "the whisper" and those affected, "monsters". The only safe haven in all the land that still holds any hope is a temple in the mountains, where the voice of the dead's masks echoes in their chambers and purges the mad whispers with their prayers.

Can Mercia be saved?

That is the question that all of those called "witnesses" try to find out. These people, who survived the madness of "the whisper", use them as a source of power to advance against the hordes of monsters that stand in their way. You, a rookie witness, set out towards Mercia's castle, hoping to find a way to save the kingdom.

Enemies and allies.

On your way, you will encounter all kinds of bizarre monsters, and people who are trapped in the halls of the castle. Kill the monsters. Save the citizens. By doing this, you can become stronger to go on your journey. Rescued citizens will be able to help you with their services, whether improving weapons, potions, or even new skills. However, they charge a price. Since the plague, materialized whispers have become something of an economy. Luckily, you can easily absorb this curse from the creatures you'll face.

It's not that simple.

The castle is not a playground. It's dangers outweigh it's treasures. Many paths will be blocked, and you will need the help of those you saved. However, there is more than one way to do this. Will you hand them the solution you find closest to you, or will you care about what they have to say? In the temple, you will be able to talk with them and witness moments of happiness and pain.

You'll decide the future of Mercia, as a witness of it's fall... or rise.
